As typhoon Ondoy exits, super typhoon Pepeng enters. Now that Pepeng enters the premises of Luzon more and more families are coming to evacuation centers and cries for help.

Here in our community a public school is now over-flowing with families that are severely affected by the flood due to typhoons. Some are forced to just stay in the nearby covered basketball court.

I have experienced the effect of these severe flooding but luckier enough to still have a shelter. Now, me and my friends are trying to make a way to help them and we need you to help us.

As a start to this plan of helping this victims, we visited both the public school building and the basketball court for us to know what are their needs and how many exactly is in need of help in our community. As a result around 200 families is in need of food, clothing, and shelter. We will be needing an estimated $10 for each family to be fed for two days.

Standard relief packages will consist of:

  • 5 kg. of rice
  • 1 kg. of washed sugar
  • a packed of coffee and milk
  • instant noodles
  • biscuits
  • canned goods
  • bath soap

Each $10 will fed an average of 5 person per family. They would have enough to gave them strength and start to make a living again. Giving them enough for two days is SOMETHING.

Your kind donations are welcomed not only to help these 200 families but a thousand more.

Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps us sustain and expand our work to deliver life-saving health care to those who need it most. You’re just a click away from making a profound difference in someone’s life.

Bulacan also needs help!

October 2nd, 2009 by aieenbiz

September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a month’s worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just 9 hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.

Currently most of the victims are staying on school buildings, and public areas while trying to do something for a living. Most of them lost everything and in need of food, clothes, and shelter.

Since flooding was most pronounced in low-lying parts of Metro Manila and some towns in nearby Rizal province. Donations and volunteers where focus on them even though  people in Bulacan also cries for help. Time is passing and only a few send help to Bulacan.

I am writing this for them. I myself experience the tragic effect of typhoon Ondoy and I know how much the people in Bulacan feel about it. I live a few steps away (right in front) of one of the evacuation centers in our town, a covered basketball court. It is a deep pain in me that I can’t anything to help them because I may myself don’t have enough.

They are in need of:

  • Food, preferably those that don’t require much cooking like instant noodles, rice, bread, and the most important clean water.
  • Blankets, mats, pillows, towels and new clothes, the basketball court is open and the floor is cemented.
  • Medicines, some are sick and most of them are babies.
  • Toiletries because they only use 2 comfort rooms and its not enough for 30 families.

With the help of your donations me and my friends will be able to send help to those that were not yet been serviced by most of the rescue teams and volunteers. They are victims too and they also need us.

Let us do this, now that Super Typhoon Pepeng already enters the premises of Luzon they will need the most help for them to still survive.
