I’ve been thinking on how to help victims of typhoon Ondoy. I’m living in Antipolo, it’s part of Rizal where 90% were affected by the flood and luckily we are part of the 10% that was not affected. I said to myself that I should do something to help those who were affected. I don’t have much to share but I know that I can still help in so many ways.
Yesterday, with the help of my 4 year old niece, we packed used clothes that we no longer need including her old clothes. I told her a lot of people need it. She saw on TV what happened and seems to understand what’s going on.
I also make a pledge that a portion of my earnings through online job will be use to buy baby feeding bottles and adult undergarments. When I watched the news, I’m so happy that a lot of people are helping and donating foods,distilled water,used clothes,canned foods and milk for the babies but haven’t seen any donation for feeding bottle.
Lucky for those who were not affected by the typhoon,we are so blessed. Most of us might be financially struggling right now but still consider yourself to be lucky that you still have shelter, you have your family, you still have food to eat everything, you still have clothes to wear.
Each of us can help them recover from this tragedy. $40.00 worth of baby feeding bottles and $40.00 worth of adult undergarment can definitely help a lot.
